You don't meet many actual members of the group. While you face The Wild Hunt plenty of times during The Witcher 3, most of your opponents are generic hounds. So, why do they want her so badly? Geralt stops them before the world can find out. And with the amount of time it takes them to track down the heroine, they probably could've brought enough people over to start the invasion. However, one of the unanswered questions fans have about Ciri is what else did they have in store for her? After all, they can move to other worlds without her - it's just a slower process. As silly as it sounds, they originally forced Unicorns to help them teleport by opening the Gate of the Worlds. You see, The Wild Hunt may seem impervious, but they have their weaknesses, particularly when it comes to traveling across worlds. They want her because of the Elder Blood running through her veins. In Witcher 3, however, they have an additional goal of getting their hands on Ciri.
Then, they bring these people back home and use them as slaves. The Wild Hunt's purpose is to transport to different worlds and capture the humans that live there.
